Demi-pointe is meant for dancers getting ready to go on pointe, typically, a dancer on demi-pointe would be mostly at the barre and on pointe for only a few minutes at a time.
One of the largest benefits of demi pointes is their full leather out-sole which creates more resistance than the traditional ballet flat, making the dancer’s foot work harder and inevitably stronger. This strengthening of the foot is extremely important in the preparation process for pointe work.
Leotard, tights, hair pulled up and demi pointe shoes. On Stage Performance does not sell pointe shoes. OSP recommends Footlight Dance & Theatre Boutique in Frederick Md. OSP does not sew pointe shoe strings or straps on. (skirts or shorts are optional to wear in class.)
